All of the channels and settings on my Baofeng are the exact same ones that i want to program in to my new Leixen. Is there a way to transfer the information from the Baofeng to the Leixen using chirp? thanks

Robert,

The first thing you need to do is to make sure CHIRP can even program
your VV-898. Leixen has changed the radio since the original CHIRP
support was created and may have broken it (according to some open
issues).

If CHIRP does program your VV-898 OK, then all you need to do is
import a saved CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) file from your UV-5R into a
tab from your VV-898. I use a UV-5R image as the master from
programming all of my CHIRP supported dual-band radios. A more
detailed explanation can be found here.
