[chirp_users] IC-92AD funnies

Hi Chuck,

When I first reported the issue with Chirp it was giving the error in band A, now it gives the error in band B. 849 includes the band edge memories so it appears the driver is scanning all the memories and not seperating the band edge ones. I also get the dstar and bank tab issues you describe.

Well, there was a time when it did work, perhaps we have to go back and find out where
it got broke. Yes it appears to be something with the band edges.

I can get it to toss the error lines when I go to either of the bank(band) tabs

Also the D-Star Tab seems to give strange results.

The same problem I've always had with mine. Seems it's trying to read bank names for the band edge scan memories which don't have any.

Please holler if there is other data I can gather. I am not sure where the rev level on
the radio is, I know that I did some updates to it, but that was a couple of years ago,
the last time I ran chirp on the radio it just worked. I think that the only way I can get
the firmware rev level is to use the Icom crapware. I have a copy but it is in storage
in WA state, so I cannot get to it, and I am not going to pay Icom $70 for another copy,
so unless we need the radio rev level it is what it is.

After it finished loading the memories if I attempt to go to the [Banks (Band A)] I get the

I have seen others but this time it appears things have locked up.

FYI
OS = Ubuntu Mate 18.04
processor is i7 quad
8G of ram, at this moment there is 6k4 free.

Folks,
I invoked Chirp in a console as soon as I ask it to talk to the radio I get this:

On and on adifinitum, for 64 lines. I see there was a bug report but not sure it was corrected.
I will get more info as I poke into it. As I started seeing all kinds of things that I did not recall
the last time I did anything with the 92AD

I found that one, for some reason the wrong PPA was enabled. It kept on coming up as
the snapshots, and looking at it from the console it looked good, but I invoked Synaptic
and saw it immediately (good old Synaptic)

Now I have the latest and greatest running but I still see things like it reading to 849
memories when it should go to 799.
Also seems to take a long longer to read the radio than I remembered.

Also I moved a group of channels down one to make room for another channel, it gave
the balloon that it was going to take some time to do it, OK'd the move and it showed
it was doing it, I refreshed the screen and it went to a blank screen.

Also in the D-STAR tab it shows a repeater call sign I cannot find but does not show on
that I have programmed in.

Folks,
Decided that I would go through my 92AD, remove a few frequencies I do not use, add
some and add my hotspot so I can try DStar on a hot spot.

See a lot of strange things like reading 849 memories (should only go to 799) and
one or other bank screens blank.

Looked at the bug reports and see all off what I see (Thank you Winlock) so just out
of a whim I look at the date of the code, says 20170714. I see that the latest and
greatest 20180623. I have the snapshots ppa enabled but for some reason it is not
pulling down the latest and greatest. Any ideas?

I am running Ubunut Mate 18.04
