Easiest way would be to use a cheap field strength meter - kinda like the
$20 CB SWR meters with a short whip to get a relative strength indication -
the correct antenna will have a noticeably greater field strength - in a
pinch I once used a Simpson 260 in the AC range setting and the test leads
for an antenna - crude but useful.  nu5d
