[chirp_users] Has anyone successfully programmed a Kenwood TM-D700 with Chirp?

Rich,

Mike has the best option, in my humble opinion.  I have about 40 HTs and
there are a couple of them I use Chirp for and things work perfectly.  I
usually do prefer, though, to go to RT Systems and just get the cable and
s/w.  I'm out $40-50 bucks.  The URL for your particular radio is here:

Your particular s/w plus cable costs $49 + p/h and possibly tax, depending
on where you live.

I have never had a single problem with their software or cable.  No
jerry-rigging everything, hunting for a driver and trying to install lit
into windows, or take a newer driver out and add an older one.  I'm pretty
computer savvy, but more in the area of testing and localization.  I prefer
not to mess with things and just order the dumb cable and s/w from RT
Systems.  I've tried the route before with trying to get a not quite so
standard cable to work properly, or play around with drivers.  I just go
straight to someone who can help me get right to it.  That's not to say
it's bad to do it the other way, especially if you like a challenge.  For
my part, I just get frustrated.  So RT Systems it is.  I have bought about
20 of these sets in the past for all my handhelds.  Good luck, whatever you
