Not exactly. That is what the radio reports with the [3] + Power-On
message, but that isn't what the radio identified itself as part of
the cloning process.

I have a UV-6R and have had it cloning with CHIRP for some time. Its
upper memory layout is quite different from a UV-5R and I haven't had
time to sort it out.

I have had some time the last few days so I have been working on this.
I am now close to releasing a patch to support this model.
