Hey Joseph,  Yea I would love to help with this project. I do not have a license yet but listen a lot. I have a friend that would be helping when i need to transmit though, yea I would like to get involved. Wish me luck..test this sunday. oh yea not sure I mentioned I am using windows 8.1.

I took a quick look at the IC-737A manual and icomciv.py.  It should be possible to make a driver based on the IC-746 but I have no way to test it.
Are you interested in offering your time and effort in testing the driver?  Beware, it could get frustrating.
