[chirp_users] Are Baofeng & Wouxun FCC compliant?

Hi Bob,

Remember in an "EMERGENCY" anything goes.
You may use ANY FREQUENCY that you have access to.
I had a ht that I provided to my parents in AZ. for them to carry and use
when driving between their homes in Phoenix and Payson.

It was tuned to Department of Public Safety, Maricopa County Sheriff's
Department  and Gila County Sheriff's Department.
They carried it for 15 years and used it many times to report traffic
accidents, rock falls that closed the highway, Medical emergency's and one
time to report the death of a DPS Officer when a bridge he was checking
during a flood washed him and his car downstream on AZ 87 @ Sycamore creek
during a flood in 1970 IIRC.
After each use they notified the FCC Engineer of the use and why.
No problems from FCC or any of the Department's involved.
