Many thanx for the workaround.
It works.
But it would be great to get the new firmware also supported in Chirp for up/downloading from/to radio.
Would it be possible to have a checkmark to accept any identity if the radio type is set to UV-B5/B6?
Eg. do not care what radio sends, and just go on?
Also it would be great to check when a NACK comes back if it is the first byte of the test data.
If yes, then the propability is very high, that everything is OK, and that the firmware simply does not accept test data!

I will gladly test beta builds.

PS: As mentioned earlier, in the mailinglist welcome message a beta download link is referenced, that gives a 404.
