Hi David,

This is easy to do.

1. Download from the second radio.
2. Import the "image" from the 1st radio into the tab for the 2nd radio

File -> Import -> change file mask to "CHIRP Radio Images (*.img)" ->
import image

3. make any other settings chagnes.
4. upload modified tab back to second radio.

Import not only works across incompatible firmware version, it also
works across different radio models and even different radio brand.
