[chirp_users] Chirp vs. Win8.1

Yes the hardware will not support Maverick. I have a prolific cable and I
finally got it to see the cable and radio but it errors out and tells me it
might be a bad cable. I am using the same cable that I use with my vx-1r.
May be wrong cable?

I forgot to ask, what is the make and model # of your USB serial cable? This
is something we must know before attempting anything.
Just as a heads up, the task is probably going to be finding the right
serial driver for you and nothing to do with the CHIRP app.
I do observe that you are three OS X versions behind, which will makes
things a bit harder. Is the reason you have not upgraded your OS X is that
your Mac hardware does not support OS X beyond Lion?
