Subject: [chirp_users] feature request - accessibility

hello,

well, I just tried out the new chirp 0.4.0 on Linux. everything seems to work except for the following issues:
1. spin buttons not labeled as anything other than "spin button #"
2. check boxes not labeled as to function
3. edit boxes not labeled as to type
4. popup boxes not labeled with additional information as to what they are
5. the loaded table from the radio reads OK except that when sculling down, the cell below is read as the cell left of the one actually being looked at
6 exporting to CSV file results in an error: "settings object has no attribute.: 'pre fill'".

if this seems like a lot, it probably is. However, I really would like to be able to use a computer program to program my Bao-Fang without sighted assistance. I know this seems to be a sore point, but it does have to be dealt with at some point. If I had the time and resources to devote to learning and coding in python, I would. However, I don't. Its a simple matter of not having time (I am attending classes to get a degree here and can't add even one more thing to my plate). .

so, how about it? can you look at these?

if you need further information on non-visual interfaces in python, check here:
1. http://empowermentzone.com/NonvisualDevelopmentFAQ.htm
2. https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/Accessibility/Conceptual/AccessibilityMacOSX/OSXAXModel/OSXAXmodel.html

Me and thousands of other blind hams who use radios supported by this program would greatly appreciate being able to do so without waiting on someone with working eyes to do it for us.

thanks,

Eric
