Laine,

Believe me, you would not want the file you are asking for. It would be
like downgrading to a CHIRP version from 18 months ago! It probably
wouldn't work with your radio if it has a firmware version higher than
BFB290. Besides, CHIRP is no longer packaged the way it was back then. So
you couldn't apply this hack the way it was described anyway.

With CHIRP you can already set the band limits from 1 MHz to 1000 MHz. This
will allow you key in or scan any frequency into the VFO (based on the STEP
setting) within this range. If you find any frequency that is useful to
you, just program it into a channel using the keypad. CHIRP will download
and upload that memory channel just fine. You just won't be able to edit it
in the spreadsheet memory editor.
