Mike,

Click "View" in the menu bar. Then enable "Hide Unused Fields".

Now unused fields will be blank. You won't need "no tone" because there
will be no tone value listed (it will be blank).

CHIRP was recently updated so that new installations will have "Hide Unused
Fields" enabled by default.
