[chirp_users] Settings

There seem to be several settings for the BaoFeng F8+ radio that are of not particular consequence.  One that has been confusing me is the “Tone Mode”  Doesn’t seem to work on “Tone.”  Should I be doing “TSQL” instead?  or what?  Is there somewhere I can get an explanation of the various settings needed to program the radio.  The template is quite different from the sample I have from a friend with another model.    
Any ideas?
