There are a few "variants" of the Wouxun UV-8D already out there - and now 
Powerwerx has received a new FCC ID number for a model with even newer 
features/firmware.

This might be a case of "What works for some units may not work for others." 
This occurred with a Puxing model of two last year: You use the "newest software" 
and brick a radio ...

Whatever model of '8D you submit to the CHIPR development team, it should be 
noted the precide version/date of its firmware - to attempt to eliminate problems down 
the line.
