Chirp does a hard check to make sure it is the radio it thinks it is.

> Baofeng BF-888s radios used to be programmed with this same BF-480 software. So if the Baofeng BF-480 software works for the the UV-6, then it would be worth a shot to try the selecting the BF-888s driver in CHIRP. Let us know if it works or not.
