A new daily build of CHIRP is available.  This includes changes made
directly to the tree yesterday, and may include additional features,
bug fixes, and/or bugs.  If you are interested in trying it, grab it

[Marco Filippi <iz3gme.marco at gmail.com>] [ft8x7] pad labels with blanks
the bug seems to be limited to a few production lot of ft857d but padding
is safe for all radios in ft8x7 family and it can avoid future problems
Fix #937
