[chirp_users] Prolific Update

Jim,
Can you point me to a location of a prolific driver that does not do the security check and works with windows 7? I got a Puxing 777 radio and programming cable from the 409shop in HKG. I can get the cable and provided driver to work with windows XP, but can not get it to work for windows 7. I am sure the cable is not authintic prolific.....

No. Do not update.
Unless your programming cable has a genuine Prolific usb-to-serial chip in it (most cheap cables have a counterfeit chip), the updated driver will detect the counterfeit chip and stop working. You must continue to use the older driver that does not perform this check.
