Bret I haven’t had a chance to try this with a live signal yet, but just looking at the steps when I go MENU 1 1 it displays “R-CTCS OFF” and when I press menu to activate the mode  the voice says “CTCSS” but it still displays “R-CTCS OFF”. Is this the correct behaviour? The same for menu 10.
If it displays “OFF” when you activate it how do then turn Menu 10/11 OFF as per the instructions.
Sorry if I’m missing something blatantly obvious here.

You can scan for the tone when someone is transmitting.

 

Also you will need to know the repeater offset or the input frequency if using a repeater

Hello

 

I am having a small issue I tries to program my UV5R with the frequencies of my job and I cannot transmit on them, all it does is receive my co-workers, but no transmit. On my repeaters it works fine. the frequencies in question are in the 161 MHZ and 162 MHZ

range. I used the Baofeng Software, and did not work. So then I used the Chirp and was able to put it on the radio but again no transmit. Version on my radio is the older version. If there is any other software I can use to unlock those 2 frequencies let me know, if you have any questions for more information  just email me.
