Thanks again for all the help Jim. I've been around scanners for about 25 years but the UV-5R is pretty different. I'll let you know if it works ok.

 I've already done as you instructed but I was wanting to
 find a way to program the PL because another town's PD
 is coming through too. I was wondering if there is a way to
 block unwanted signals.
