You've selected Yaesu FT-8900 in the chirp clone settings dialog, right?

You hit okay on that box and then hit the button to start the TX on the 
radio side, is that right?

Did you have the radio at the clone screen before clicking okay, or did 
you click okay on chirp and then do the entire special boot procedure on 
the radio?
