[chirp_devel] Debian Bug#885265: chirp: Depends on unmaintained pygtk

Hello Dan, Everyone

Happy Holidays.. I hope all is well with you and all of your families!
I'm on the Debian-Hams list and I saw this roll by and thought I'd bring
it up with the group. Generally speaking, Debian is seemingly getting
strict about all packages and their upstreams to be either getting
maintenance or they remove them from their packaging. That's what seems
to be happening here.

pygtk is unmaintained upstream. It has not had a release since GNOME 3
was released in 2011.

The way forward is to port your app to use GObject Introspection
bindings.

For more information on GObject Introspection see [1] and [2].

Please try to do this before the Buster release as we're going to
try to remove pygtk this cycle.

If you have any question don't hesitate to ask.
