It looks like Kenwood publishes the protocol for the TS-480, so that
should go smoothly:

Start with the TS-2000 or TM-D710 code. Both are pretty similar. Small
things will change like the number of fields and the index for CTCSS
tones.

For the IC-7100, I'd start with the IC-7000 or IC-7200 driver.
