Well, most of them aren't serious about 220 because it's not a ham band
in most of the rest of the world, thus committing resources to it makes
it useful only in the US. Yaesu is driving their VHF PA hard so that
they can get something out of it, but only because it's "free". I doubt
the other manufacturers would be willing to cut corners like that, which
is why you don't see anyone else doing it.
